Eric Mueller turned his yard into an instant memorial when he decided to place an angel on display for each of
the victims in the school shooting, the majority of whom were only six-years-old

Twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38 when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's
gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air they could hardly believe all the beauty they
saw there.
They were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say they remembered nothing of what had
happened earlier that day.
"Where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
"This is heaven." declared a small boy. "We're spending Christmas at God's house."
When what to their wondering eyes did appear, but Jesus, their Savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same. Then He opened His arms and He
called them by name.
And in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring those children all flew into the arms of their
King and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace, one small girl turned and looked at Jesus'
face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom
and dad."
Then He looked down on earth, the world far below He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe.
Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand, "Let My power and presence re-enter this
land!"
"May this country be delivered from the hands of fools"
"I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!"
Then He and the children stood up without a sound. "Come now my children, let me show you
around."
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran, all displaying enthusiasm that only a small
child can.
And i heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight, "in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE
LIGHT."

As the news of the horrific mass murder that occurred in the small town of Newtown, Conn., spread
across not only this nation but the world, the question has been raised, "Where was God?  Why
would he let this happen?"  We may have to wait until we face Him in judgement to hear His answer to
this question, but I have one to raise myself...since there is literally a church on every corner in this
great nation of ours, why doesn't the church have the power to do something about the evil that has
engulfed our nation?

Mass murders, murder/suicides and other terrible acts of violence have been on the rise in recent
years.  No, evil didn't just start happening, but it seems that it is at an all time high.  Here is a list of
mass murders this year and the number is still rising:

April 2 - A gunman kills seven people and wounds three in a shooting rampage at a Christian college
in Oakland.

July 20 - A masked gunman kills 12 people and wounds 58 when he opens fire on movie goers at a
showing of the Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, a suburb of Denver, Colorado.

Aug. 5 - A gunman kills six people during Sunday services at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin,
before he is shot dead by a police officer.

Aug. 24 - Two people are killed and eight wounded in a shooting outside the landmark Empire State
Building in New York City at the height of the tourist season.

Sept. 27 - A disgruntled former employee kills five people and takes his own life in a shooting
rampage at a Minneapolis sign company from which he had been fired.

Oct. 21 - Three people are killed in a Milwaukee area spa including the estranged wife of the
suspected gunman, who then killed himself.

Dec. 14 - A shooter opens fire at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, killing
20 children and 6 adults.

A professional football player takes the life of his girlfriend then takes his own life...when will it end?

My question is this...(or should I say my statement)... Would the church be able to make a difference
if we focused more on the Great Commission that Jesus left with the disciples and less on living the
prosperous and abundant life that we seem to seek after so tenaciously.  The world is hurting.
People are filled with despair, despondency and the devil.  Why can't the church be that beacon of
hope?

God has always been here.  Jesus left us with the authority to lay hands on and heal the sick, raise
the dead and cast out demons.  And, since the devil is as real today as he was in Jesus' time, we
have to believe that he is behind the rash of shootings, murders, suicides, rapes, molestations,
abductions and so forth and so on.

The church has allowed so much to go unanswered...prayer being taken out of schools, abortions as
an answer to careless sex, prayer being excluded from public functions and they even want to take
God off of the money that we use, men are allowed to marry men and women are following suit...when
will it end?  When will the church rise up and say enough is enough?  Will America have to get to the
point that the government is telling us which god to serve before the church rises up and takes
control of the situation?  Our founding fathers established one nation, under God with liberty and
justice for all.  Will our liberties have to be challenged before the church will come together and stand
on a common, moral ground?

I sadly think that gun control will halt the onslaught of violence and deprivation that is sweeping
across the nation and the world.  But, I do wonder what might happen if all of us who call ourselves
Christians would ban together, get on the same page, and began to operate in the authority that
Christ gave us and bind the enemy.  What would happen if we decided to take our children back from
the clutches of the evil one and said "No, you can't have my child!"  What would happen if
government which was established in God would begin to operate "IN GOD"?

Let's wake up and smell the coffee before another foolish, demon possessed person decides to take
out another school, mall, restaurant, post office, office building, hospital, or playground.  Let's ban
together and tell the devil NO MORE!

If you are interested in doing more than just shaking your head in disgust at this situation, drop me a
line and let's get something started here.  As much as I hate to say this, the next loved one taken out
could be yours or mine.  Let's not wait for the government to haggle over gun control for the next
year and a half...we as Christians can come together and do something now!  If we don't learn
something from this recent tragedy then those babies and the adults who cared for them all died in
vain.  How many more innocent people have to die at the hands of the devil...and yes, the devil made
him do it!  Make no mistake, the enemy is pulling out all the stops.
