Ask yourself the question...
The Word For Women Network  An Interactive Ministry

There are many times during the course of the day when we can ask ourselves the question.."what
WOULD Jesus do?"  This phrase became very popular during the '80's and the 90's.  Everywhere, folks
were asking this question.  It's hard to say if it really worked as far as inspiring people to do the right
thing.  But one thing is for sure, it really kept Jesus on everybody's mind...and that was a good thing.  How
about we bring this saying back?

What would happen if you, the Believer,  would once again ask the question "What would Jesus do"
before giving a co-worker a piece of your mind, even though it might be well deserved?  That co-worker
might really see that the Church is different. It's sad to say, but there are times when you can't tell us from
the world because we have forgotten to do what Jesus would do.  Now the God of patience and
consolation grant you to be like-minded one toward another according to Christ Jesus. Romans 15:5

Or, how many fights could be avoided at home if we asked the question, "What would Jesus do" before
dealing with our spouses or our children?  The Bible says be slow to anger, be angry but sin not, charity
begins at home and so on and so on.  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour and evil
speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving
one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.  Ephesians 4: 31,32

And how many instances of giving in to temptation could be avoided if we stopped and asked ourselves,
"What would Jesus do" in the same situation.  The Bible says that He was tempted but knew no sin.
Meaning, every temptation that we are faced with daily, Jesus faced.  The Bible says that for every
temptation he gives us a way out.  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man:
but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation
also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it.  I Corinthians 10: 13.

The term Christian means to be Christ-like.  Our actions, our thoughts, our desires, and our motives
should mirror those of Christ.  The world should be able to look at us and get a real glimpse of who
Jesus is.  Remember, we may be the only chance that they get to see Christ. We, as Believers, have a
responsibility to live in such a way that our lives are a living testimony of the love that Christ showed when
He laid down His life for us.   So, the next time you are in doubt about what to do in any given situation, ask
yourself the ageless question,
