Taking the
Word

While taking care of my grandchildren during the summer of 2007, I remember asking the Lord to use me in His service.  I wasn't active in any
ministry,  as a matter of fact I didn't belong to a church at that time.  I had moved from Lafayette to Houston to help my daughter and son in law with
their growing family.  Taking care of a beautifully precocious and over active three year old girl, a ten month old adorable baby boy and twin newborn
boys was a handful, to say the least.  They took up all of my waking moments and even my dream time.  Between taking care of the children, cooking,
cleaning and whatever else I had to do in house, I didn't have much time for church hunting.  By the time the weekends rolled around and I could go to
church, I was too tired to look for one.  Thus, my cry out to God.  I was not used to being outside of the church and I truly missed working in the
ministry.

In answer to my cry, I heard a voice in my spirit telling me to build a website for women. This was really funny to me because I didn't build websites at
that time.  I had studied graphic design at Lamar University and owned Inspiring Creations, a desktop publishing company, but websites...never.  I
designed business cards, all types of programs, wedding invitations, you name it, but no websites.   I didn't know how to write code and I had no idea of
how to even start a website. Because of my limitations and lack of skills, I refused to entertain the idea of building a website for women.  But, the idea
wouldn't go away.

To make a long story short, after much prayer and searching the Internet, I found a web hosting company that actually walked one through the arduous
process of building a site from scratch.  God then put my talent for writing to use and before I knew it devotions were appearing faster than I could
type.  Ideas for graphics came from nowhere.  The pages began to bloom and before my eyes sprang The Word for Women Network.  Through much
prayer, trial and error, the website has stood the test of time.  In 2008, we got our first prayer request from somewhere in Asia, letting me know that we
were being visited around the world.  As the request continued to come in, I knew that it was time for me to further my studies in the ministry, to show
myself approved. In the summer of 2011 I received my certificate from the World Christianship Ministries as an ordained Evangelist.  I enrolled in the
Online Bible College and am currently studying to receive a certificate in Theology.

I am an author, graphic designer, speaker and now web designer.  I am the proud mother of Andrea and Brandon and the super proud grandmother of
Lauryn, Jayden, Alexander, Andrew, Ashton and Ava.  I thank God for the opportunity to minister to women all over the world and to share my story
and testimony.  We serve an awesome God!
